PS Plus November Lineup: Dead Island 2, Tomb Raider Trilogy

Sony's November PS Plus Monthly Games pair a returning zombie brawler and a classic Tomb Raider trilogy with a deckbuilder bold enough to invite comparison to the genre's best.

Three games arrive on PlayStation Plus this November, and for once the arithmetic actually flatters the service: one triple-A zombie brawler making a quiet return engagement, one genuinely well-assembled trilogy of archaeological violence, and one deckbuilder confident enough to invite comparison to the genre's reigning champion. The PlayStation Blog confirms all three, Dead Island 2, Tomb Raider IV through VI Remastered, and Monster Train 2, become redeemable from Tuesday, November 3 through Monday, November 30.

Dead Island 2 drops you into HELL-A, a sun-bleached Los Angeles overrun by mutated hordes, where the pitch has always been the melee combat: an inventive, gory toolkit for slicing through zombies solo or with two friends in co-op. It is worth remembering, as GameSpot notes, that this game already did a tour through the Game Catalog in 2024 before being quietly pulled earlier this year, which makes this November appearance less a discovery than a re-release of a re-release, and whatever you thought of it the first time around is likely to hold the second.

Tomb Raider IV through VI Remastered is the more interesting proposition, bundling The Last Revelation, Chronicles, and The Angel of Darkness, the so-called Darkness trilogy, with a toggle between the original polygonal models and the remastered presentation at any point. That toggle is a small courtesy that a great many remaster packages conveniently forget to include, and its presence here does more to earn goodwill than any marketing copy could.

Monster Train 2 rounds out the trio: a single-player deckbuilding roguelite in which a reluctant coalition of angels and demons commandeers a train across Heaven, Hell, and the Abyss to depose the Titans who have seized control upstairs. Five new clans and three vertical lanes of defense give it more moving parts than most entries in its genre bother with, and IGN is not shy about the obvious reference point, calling it a treat for anyone who already loves Slay the Spire. That is the correct comparison, and Monster Train 2 should be grateful it survives it; the original was never embarrassed standing next to that particular standard, and nothing here suggests the sequel will be either.

Members still sitting on October's haul, F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896, and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2, have only until Monday, November 2 to claim them, a deadline Insider Gaming and DayOne both flag alongside the November news, while Eurogamer points out these additions arrive just as the calendar tips into its heaviest release month. PlayStation Access ran through all three on its YouTube channel the same day, chapter by chapter, which tells you Sony is not burying this lineup so much as pacing it. None of it is revolutionary, and none of it needs to be; it is simply a service remembering, this particular month, what it is actually for.
