GTA 6 Fans Spot Mystery Car Shoot, Suspect Live-Action Trailer

Camera crews and GTA-branded supercars have been spotted convoying through Miami, and fans think Rockstar is filming something bigger than another ad.

A line of custom sports cars wearing fictional badges rolled through Key Biscayne this week, trailed by a camera crew nobody from Rockstar Games bothered to explain. Fans posted the convoy, the graffiti reading simply "Vice City," and the stadium banner echoing it, and from there the theory wrote itself: Rockstar is filming a live-action trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI using the real Miami it has spent weeks dressing up to look like the fictional one.

The pieces line up well enough to take seriously. Rockstar has already flown a Vice City blimp over Florida, booked a Miami Heat game under the name "A Night in Vice City," and papered the city with ads that never once say GTA. As IGN lays out, the cars in these clips carry in-universe brands like Grotti and Emerus, not real ones, which is a strange detail to fake unless the footage is going somewhere. MrBossFTW's channel covered the same convoy sightings, alongside separate chatter about leaked achievements and a PS5 file size announcement, so the Miami shoot is the one piece of this carried by more than a single account.

Still, carried by two accounts is not the same as confirmed by one company. Rockstar has not addressed any of it, not the cars, not the graffiti, not the stadium banner, and everything here is fan photography stitched into a theory, however tidy that theory looks. I'll admit I'm already grading this one generous, filing a city-wide costume job under "marketing" instead of "overkill," which is an allowance I don't extend to platform holders who ship a driver update and call it a headline. Rockstar gets the benefit of the doubt here mostly because it has earned it before, and I'm aware that's exactly the kind of curve-grading I'd flag on anyone else.

What keeps this interesting from an Xbox seat specifically is that there is no exclusivity angle to argue over. Grand Theft Auto VI ships November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S the same day, so whatever this trailer turns out to be, both camps get it on identical terms. That is rarer than it should be in this business, and it means the only thing worth arguing about is whether the spectacle in Miami produces actual footage or just a very expensive month of cosplay with real estate.

Earn the benefit of the doubt with one receipt: an actual trailer, not another grainy clip of cars none of us can buy.
