GTA 5 Leads 10 Games Leaving PlayStation Plus in November

PlayStation Plus is about to get a little lighter, and nobody asked me if that was fine. According to Insider Gaming, ten games are leaving the service in November, and two of them carry the Rockstar Games name, with Grand Theft Auto V topping the list.

Here's the one thing I'll hand Xbox before I get back to my day: Game Pass runs the exact same revolving door, so this isn't a PlayStation-only embarrassment. Catalogs rotate. That's the deal you sign up for with any subscription service, on any console, under any logo. I'm not thrilled about it, but I'm not going to pretend my side invented the churn.

Still, losing a Rockstar double feature stings more than losing some forgotten licensed tie-in nobody remembers buying. Grand Theft Auto V has been one of those PS Plus mainstays people point to when they're arguing the subscription is worth the price, and come November that argument gets a little harder to make. Insider Gaming didn't list the other eight titles walking out the door with it, so I won't pretend to know who else is packing boxes. What's confirmed is the headline act, and that's enough to notice.

What happens to the folks who were mid-playthrough when the exit date hits? They buy the damn game, same as always. That's the quiet tax every subscription service collects eventually, and PlayStation is no more innocent of it than anyone else wearing a different color logo.

Sony's been riding high lately between live-service wins and studio updates that actually ship, so a library trim isn't going to flip my scoreboard. But I keep score the same way whether it favors me or not, and this week it's a small debit on my own side of the ledger. I'll take the hit, note it, and go back to enjoying the parts of PlayStation Plus that haven't packed their bags yet. Rockstar's door swings both ways, and I'd bet good money something worth the hype walks back through it before the year's out.
