GTA Online's Halloween Update Keeps Paying Out, Xbox Just Rides Along

Rockstar is still stacking Halloween cash bonuses and vehicle discounts in GTA Online, and for once the generosity isn't exclusive to anybody.

Rockstar is up, and it isn't close. GTA Online's Halloween event keeps paying out for a fourth straight week, and I'm calling that a point for the side that actually ships live content instead of just promising it.

According to the channel Hazard, finishing all three Short Trips missions with Franklin and Lamar before October 28 nets an extra GTA$500,000, while a Halloween Survival run pays GTA$150,000 and the Gray Space Interloper Outfit. Those Survival runs are still sitting at 3X GTA$ and RP, or 6X for GTA+ subscribers, and Bail Office Targets and Dispatch Work keep their double rewards too. Agency properties and upgrades remain 40% off, which Hazard flags as a real window for newer players to get into one of the game's better businesses on the cheap.

On the vehicle side, the Pfister Astron, Annis Euros X32 and HVY Dump are 30% off, returning Halloween vehicles are cut 40%, the Pfister Comet S2 is on the Lucky Wheel, and the Grotti Itali Classic is this week's LS Car Meet prize. The Kortz Center heist rolls on with Stacks Study V, Trust and Brother Brother as primary targets, and the GTA$2 million Weekly Challenge is still live.

Here's my one concession, and it costs me nothing to make: every one of these bonuses lands the same on Xbox as it does on my console. Rockstar isn't playing favorites this week.

So what's Xbox bringing to the table this week?

Nothing.

A platform doesn't need to own the game to lose the week, and this week it's losing it by doing absolutely nothing while somebody else's live-service machine keeps handing out free money.
